A revolutionary new sanding system, thought to be the
world’s first virtually
dust-free sanding solution, cuts costs, improves topcoat quality
and productivity as well as the working environment in paint and
body shops.
Effectiveness of the system is the reticulated polyamide to which
abrasive grains are resin bonded before conversion into Mirka
Abranet sanding discs. This allows 95% of dust to be extracted.
Typically a 150mm disc has 24000 holes, ensuring that each particle
of grit is only 0.5mm from an extraction point.

Filters Secure Sole UK Distribution For Nederman Dust Extraction
Unit
Towards the end of 2005, Southern Filters contacted Nederman
with an enquiry from MOD supply agents looking for a solution
for Surface finishing, complete with dust extraction in Airside
Environments.
Southern Filters visited Nick Dulley National Key Account Manager
for Nederman at their Preston Demonstration Area, where details
of the application and the end user customer requirements were
taken into consideration, this resulted in a controlled demonstration
of the Norclean and Mirka tools, which now make up the accepted
and NATO codified solution.
The reason that Southern Filters came to Nederman with the initial
enquiry was that they could provide true ATEX approved portable
vacuum systems for use with the Mirka sanding tools and abranet
abrasive for On Tool dust extraction.
Southern Filters were so impressed and confident with the solution
offered, that in January 2006 we purchased two demonstration units
and did a 4 month tour around the UK Ministry of Defence establishments,
this resulted in orders for approximately 75 units in the first
six months of the contract - with more to follow. This is one
of many NATO codified products within the Nederman range.
